Minerals and other resources can be found that can be used on weapons and armor. ( Update: I'm told this activity is actually live already, and can be done with a sparrow in the existing zones. It really does seem like if it popped up on non-Dreadnaught areas, it could actually be something like a sparrow race, which would be cool. I’m also curious to learn more about this “Energy Spike” patrol activity, as the description of that wasn’t super clear, and it’s the first I’m hearing about it. I'm wondering how it compares to other existing legendary sparrows. I like that the rewards don’t appear to be anything gamebreaking, though a hyper-fast sparrow is something that’s super useful for the game in general, even if it’s rarely going to save your bacon. As a mostly solo player, the last thing I want in Destiny are more damn things I need a non-matchmade fireteam to beat, and three level 40 strikes and patrol and PvP challenges are going to be obnoxious to orchestrate for someone with my lone wolf tendencies. I’m not super jazzed about the fact that it seems like you’ll need a premade fireteam to complete this questline. But more, because even though there doesn’t seem to be any specific new content, just modified existing content, it’s way, way more elaborate and challenging than I imagined. Less, because I thought it would be a short new story quest focused on gliding jump puzzles or something (Red Bull gives you wings, after all). So, the quest manages to be simultaneously more and less than I expected. The reward is a consumable from Amanda Holiday that upgrades their Red Bull Sparrow into a super-fast variant.
It’s back to an 18 minute timer for the level 40 variant, but this time the Red Bull team beat it with 4:30 left to go. One more Strike, The Shield Brothers, the one we saw on the Bungie stream. This time it’s The Sunless Cell at level 40 where they have to kill six Shriekers and a specific Hallowed Thrall for some reason. After that, it’s back to another modified Strike. Its perks are not listed, if it has any.Ĥ. Their reward for this? A Red Bull-styled Ghost shell. I’m unclear if this can be performed solo or not. After that, they have to form a fireteam and win a game of Crucible where they win three matches and at least one of them is the top scorer. From there they have to move into PvP, where they have to win three matches of the new capture the flag mode Rift.
After they beat this (with only 32 seconds left), they finally get their first reward, an SR-0 Swiftriver Sparrow colored like a Red Bull can. in under 18 minutes, which features puzzles and a giant Shank boss (the jokes were right). The next challenge is to complete a level 40 version of one of the new Strikes, S.A.B.E.R. I also thought it might be a Sparrow race, but they talk about doing it in the Dreadnaught, so maybe not.Ģ. I have to believe this is a new type of patrol mission available to everyone, not just Red Bull folks. They had to get it to Overcharge 3 to complete this part of the quest. After getting the quest from shipwright Amanda Holliday (that’s a new one), they have to complete a new type of Patrol mission called “ Energy Spike” which seems to be a kind of race that has you traversing the map quickly in order to “Overcharge.” There are a few levels of this, as once you fill your charge meter, you try to keep going to get it as high as you can.
